Uploading Videos To Youtube

This guide covers how to take an MP4 or other video file and upload it to the A-1 Youtube Channel.

Signing Into the A-1 Channel

  1. Go to youtube.com
  2. Sign in using your A-1 E-mail account.
  3. Tap on the profile icon at the top right of the page.
  4. Tap Switch Account.
  5. Tap on A-1 Plumbing & Emergency….
    1. If you don't see the A-1 Plumbing option, you will need to be added to to the channel. Ask Nate or Dave to do that.
  6. You are now signed in! Congrats!!

Uploading a Video

These instructions were generated September 2022. Sometimes Youtube changes things around, but the general idea should still hold true.

  1. Make sure you are signed into the A-1 Plumbing & Emergency Channel (icon at top right of Youtube should be the A-1 Clock)
  2. Tap the Upload Video button that looks like a video camera with a plus in it.
  3. Drag and Drop the video file from Windows Explorer into the new window. OR, use the buttons to locate and upload the video file. The video file typically ends with .MP4 or .AVI.
  4. Rename the video to include the address and date.
  5. Enter any details you need to within the Description field.
  6. Press Next until you are at the Visibility screen.
  7. Change Visibility to Unlisted. (this means random people won't be able to see it without a direct link)
  8. Copy the link, and send it to the client as needed.
  9. If there are any other [Publish Now] or [Save] buttons, you will need to click them.

You may wish to hold off e-mailing the link to the video until the video is finished uploading & processing. This way the client will see the entire video.

That's it!

If you ran into any hiccups or the instructions above no longer make sense, please notify Dave or Nate, and feel free to search the internet for “How to upload a video to Youtube” if you are in a hurry.
